DEVELOPING INNOVATIVE STRATEGIES
The AGRI project is part funded by the European Regional Development Fund and supports SMEs to develop new innovations and increase their growth. We do this by offering innovation support, innovation reviews and technical resources for innovation development.
The project is aimed at businesses based in the Marches region, which covers Herefordshire, Shropshire and Telford and the Wrekin, that are operating in, or wish to expand into, the food manufacture, drink manufacture, agricultural technology and food and drink logistics sectors.
We can support businesses that comply with the current EU definition of being a Small Medium Enterprise (SME). To be eligible you must employ less than 250 people and either have a turnover of less than 50 million Euros and/or a balance sheet asset total of less than 43 million Euros
Focusing on companies involved with agri-tech, food and drink manufacturing and food and drink logistics in the Marches LEP area, AGRI provides free innovation support in the form of business advice and technological prototype development. The support is delivered by Aston University and Harper Adams University and utilises their expertise and technical resources.
Agri-tech Growth and Resources for Innovation
AGRI seeks to address barriers to business growth in the agri-food industry by providing a free innovation support service focused directly on the companies own innovation requirements. The support will involve a combination of workshops and one-to-one business advice, which can then progress to include assistance with technology development or application.
The project will also facilitate the development of a network for peer advice and SME collaboration through events held at the Agricultural Engineering Precision Innovation Centre (Agri-EPI), which is funded by the National Strategy for Agricultural Technologies and is based at Harper Adams University.
